运筹学学报是数学类核心刊物。
我国数学类的核心刊物主要有：1 数学学报2 数学研究与评论 3 数学年刊4 应用数学学报 5 计算数学 6 数学进展 7 数学杂志8 系统科学与数学 9 应用数学 10 应用概率统计 11 高等学校计算数学学报 12 高校应用数学学报 13 系统工程理论与实践 14 数学的实践与认识 15 数学物理学报 16 数理统计与应用概率 17 运筹学学报 18 工程数学学报 19 系统工程
运筹学与控制论是与数学联系密切的两门边缘学科，不归入数学，虽然现在在搞运筹学与控制论的人大多数是学数学出身的。应用数学的概念很广，只要数学在实际中的应用问题，都是应用数学的研究对象，所以学应用数学专业的人，一定会学习运筹学与控制论的。运筹学与控制论只是两门课程，不是专业，所以本科阶段有应用数学专业，没有运筹学或控制论专业的。但研究生阶段的学习更加专门化，才有侧重于运筹学或控制论的专业。
